Chilean musicians of different genres will be making use of the Tocatas Mil in order to offer evenings of live music in GAM, the main headquarters of the Santiago International Festival a Mil. All of the participating artists have thought of a concept for this series of intimate concerts. The idea is to make this night a unique and unrepeatable experience.

Francisca Valenzuela has grown fond of performing "unplugged," singing a mix of well-known songs and others, unreleased, in front of a grand piano. Ismael Oddó will perform part of his second disc, O2; Colombina Parra will present his new intimate and sincere album, Flores como gatos; Nano Stern has prepared an extra-special acoustic performance with an unusual quartet, consisting of a guitar, chello, strings, basses and wind-instruments, which will perform all of his albums.

Some of the artists that will take part in Tocatas a mil have also established a strong liaison between theater and their artistic work. An example of this is Fernando Milagros's (the protagonist of the band and theater spectacle, Amor es un francortirador) work, the coproduction of the Foundation of Teatro a Mil, directed by Néstor Cantillana, will be part of the 2012 program. The same will happen with Lola Arias, the argentine director and dramaturge of the new generation. She will be showing the coproduction of El año en que nacho, a montage inspired by the same experience of Mi vida después: to create an album of memories of the years of the dictatorship. Based on the vision of the sons of the protagonist from those years.

There will even be an electronic music concert, which will take place along with the video exhibition and Media Arts (BVAM). That night, Gam will be full of videos and synthesizers in order to make space for a spectacle by Chilean videoartist Valentina Berthelon along with the German musician Tobian Freund, the Chilean Mika Martini, the German musician and Chilean resident, Atom (Uwe Schmidt, also known as Sr. Coconut), and also the German Alva Noto and Byetone. They will close the Inti-illimani cycle along with the Peruvian Eva Ayllón.
